Base Game Dune

Imagine you can oversee the forces of a noble family, guild, or religious order on a desolate planet which is the only place for the most valuable substance in the known universe.

Imagine you can rewrite the script for one of the most well known science fiction books of all time. Welcome to the famous 40-year-old board game which allows you to recreate the amazing world of Frank Herbert’s DUNE.

In DUNE you will be the leader of 1 of 6 great factions. Each wishes to control the most treasured resource in the universe - melange, the mysterious spice only available at great cost on the planet DUNE. As Duke Leto Atreides notes “All fades before melange. A handful of spice will buy a home on Tupile. It cannot be manufactured, it must be mined on Arrakis. It is unique and it has true geriatric properties.” And without melange space travel would not be possible. Only by eating the addictive drug can the Guild Steersman continue to have visions of the future, allowing them to plot a safe path through hyperspace.

Who will control DUNE? Be one of the characters and their forces from the book and . . . You decide!

This expansion adds 2 new houses, the Ixians and the Tleilaxu, to the Dune board game.

Tleilaxu: Led by a tiny council of Tleilaxu Masters – the fanatic, xenophobic Tleilaxu were put up with because of their useful genetic engineering superiority. Although underestimated and detested by others, they hoped to someday dominate all.

Ixian: The cyborg, Prince Rhombur of House Vernius, leads the Ixians, masters of manufacturing and technologies only they know how to complete.

Both the Ixians and the Tleilaxu are essential to the economy of CHOAM and the Imperium. The royal family of Ix had once been one of the richest in the Imperium. Because of a triumphant invasion of Ix by the Tleilaxu and the Emperor’s Sardaukar, and then, after numerous years, the liberation of Ix by Ixian and Atreides forces, the Ixians and the Tleilaxu are mortal enemies.

This expansion adds 2 new houses, the Ixians and the Tleilaxu, to the Dune board game. This expansion will also introduce new game mechanics to aid you gain advantages over your rivals.
